About The Event

Memory & History is a hands-on workshop that introduces participants to the practice of personal archiving — how we preserve objects, memories, histories, and the stories attached to them.

The session explores simple ways to begin structuring, caring for, and cataloguing personal materials such as photographs, letters, documents, and everyday ephemera. Participants will reflect on why preservation matters and how archives can become tools for memory, storytelling, and resistance.

The workshop is facilitated by Mira Brunner, archivist and visual artist, from the Queer Archive for Memory, Reflection, and Activism (QAMRA), NLSIU.

Participants are requested to bring one personal item of significance that they would like to preserve. This item will be used as a starting point to think through archiving practices during the session.
