This Sunday, Rainbow Nights becomes a tribute, a stage, a workshop, and a dance floor.
As we mark the week of International Drag Day and Non-Binary Awareness Week, Sas Who Maa brings 100 Nights of Indian Drag to EXT — a performance tribute to India’s long and layered history of drag, gender performance, theatrical transformation, folk storytelling, cinema, and self-expression.
Indian drag belongs within a wider global history of gender performance, theatrical transformation and queer expression. Across India, cross-gender performance, satire, devotion, glamour, folk traditions and cinema have shaped a vivid legacy of their own.
Through references to icons and traditions such as Chapal Bhaduri, Bal Gandharva, folk performance practices, Bollywood’s unforgettable drag moments, and contemporary Indian drag, this edition celebrates drag as art, resistance, spirituality, entertainment, and self-expression.
